Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet! Keep Your Feet Safe & Comfortable While Trick or Treating This Halloween

With Halloween quickly approaching, it’s likely your children are counting down the days until they can throw on their new costume and collect candy from all the neighbors. However, there are a few things you and your child should keep in mind when it comes to your feet while trick or treating. Don’t let poor shoe choice ruin the fun with pain, blisters, or a stubbed toe.

Comfort Is Key

Trick or treating often involves a significant amount of walking, so making the right shoe choice is crucial. Even if they don’t totally match with your costume, choose shoes that will keep you comfortable all night long. The last thing you want is for you or your child to end the night early because of painful shoes.

Choose A Breathable Material

We recommend wearing shoes made of a breathable material, such as canvas, when trick or treating. Breathable shoes will decrease the chance of developing sweaty feet and giving off a smelly odor. This will also help to keep your feet dry and warm throughout the night.

Socks Are Necessary

Socks are beneficial for multiple reasons while trick or treating. Not only will they prevent blisters or cuts on your feet while walking, but they will also help keep your feet dry. The weather is typically pretty brisk in late October, so we suggest wearing socks to reduce the possibility of cold feet.

Double-Knot Your Laces

If you decide to wear shoes with laces, be sure you tie them in a double-knot. This will help ensure that your shoes won’t come untied while walking about, and eliminate the risk of tripping on your laces and hurting yourself or someone else.
